The words “real estate agent” and “realtor” are often used interchangeably. Still, they are different types of agents that states can license to sell and buy a property. Real estate includes land, buildings and structures on it.
Real estate brokers play an integral part in acquiring, managing, selling, renting, and advertising real estate. In short, they make sure that people have a place to live.
A realtor can take care of the whole process of selling and buying properties for buyers and sellers. He makes the appointments for viewings, and he coordinates the negotiations between buyer and seller. Members must obtain a real estate license from their state and get a Realtor’s card, accepted at a local office supply store. Realtor license applications can be picked up at the county clerk’s office.

This relationship enables brokers to guide buyers and sellers to appropriate vendors for negotiations. The terms broker and real estate agents are used interchangeably because a real estate agent may be a broker and a salesperson.
When a buyer or seller goes to a mortgage broker or a Realtor, the transaction is referred to as a Broker transaction. When a buyer or seller goes to a real estate agent or a broker, the marketing is referred to as a Realtor transaction. It’s a good idea to educate yourself about the differences between these terms so you can use them interchangeably when making real estate transactions.
